Covid-19: Our church will follow Government and NHS advice to promote public safety. For now, we will continue to meet as normal at Sunday and Wednesday services, taking all appropriate measures to restrict the risk of spreading viral infection.
We have made the following decision which will apply for the foreseeable future:
Our welcome teams will modify their contact with the public by not shaking hands at the door.
We have decided to CANCEL the joint Communion in Hilton, next Lord’s Day (22nd March). Normal services will take place as usual.
We will cease from serving tea and coffee after the services. The Wednesday Lunch Club and Monday’s Free Lunch are both cancelled meantime.
Youth Fellowship is also CANCELLED tomorrow (Sunday 15th March).
Please do not come to meetings and events if you are unwell with a temperature, a cough or cold symptoms. We are all advised to observe good hygiene practices, regularly washing our hands with care.
We hope to have more up to date information in the coming days so you can check the Tain and Fearn Free Church website Home page and on our Facebook pages. All our sermons will continue to be posted onto our YouTube channel.
It is important we do not give in to fear, but join our community and nation in seeking to minimise contact between people in order to slow the spread of this virus. We must constantly rely on the Lord in EVERY situation.
So, remember the words of Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. I will help you, I will strengthen you and I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Let’s worship our Sovereign Lord together tomorrow and bring Him all our concerns and burdens.
We will keep this situation under review.
Lord’s Prayer: We have introduced the Lord’s Prayer into each service at the end of the Children’s Talk. The words are on the back of the bulletin, so that everyone in the congregation can recite it together.
New Church Pledges: In addition to the monthly collections for the New Church Fund, we are seeking pledges from those willing to gift a sum of money to the project to enable us to reach the half-way mark. The sum currently pledged is £59,400. We will be submitting a loan application to the General Trustees of the church this month and we value prayer for that. It is expected that there will be a lot of other applications, and it would strengthen our case if the total pledged were to increase further. If you are able to pledge a gift of money, please speak to the Clerk to the Deacons’ Court, Mr Bill Ferrier as soon as possible on 01862 810 457 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Christianity Explored: Christianity Explored currently runs each Monday in Hilton church hall at 2pm, and in Tain church hall at 7:30pm. Each session lasts for an hour and 15 minutes. Christianity Explored is helpful if you want to know more about what it means to be a Christian. You will not be asked to contribute to discussion, but you can do so, and there is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
Highland Food Bank: The Highland Food Bank would be grateful for donations of tins of ham, Weetabix or Cornflakes (small), tins of corned beef, tins of potatoes and small washing up liquids. If you are able to donate any of these there are boxes at the door from today until the end of April.
Bible Study: The next Bible Study is on Tuesday 24th March at 7.30pm at James & Murdina’s. The passage for study, is Ex. 32:1-14.
Men’s Training Event: The next men’s training sessions will be on March 28th, April 25th and May 30th. They will each begin at 9:30am and last for three hours.
1- There is a loop system in the church and we stand to sing and remain seated for prayer
2- Any notices for the bulletin must be received by 6pm on the Thursday and should be sent to Susan Clyne.
Cheques: All cheques must now be made payable to – Tain and Fearn Free Church of Scotland.

Church Finances: The Deacons Court would like to encourage those who contribute to the church to consider doing so by Standing Order. Anyone who sets up a new Standing Order should also let the Assistant Treasurer, Donella Ferrier know that they have done so. Donella can be contacted by email on firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 01862 810 457.
