Free Lunch: The Free Lunch takes place in Hilton between 12 noon and 2pm. Come along with some friends.

WFM: The WFM will meet in Tain Church Hall at 2.30pm (see note below)

Road to Recovery: Road to Recovery meets in Tain church hall at 7.00pm

Wednesday:

Mid-week Meeting: The meeting this evening is expected to be led by Rev, John van Eyk. (see note below)

Friday: 

Prayer and Fellowship Time: The prayer group meet at David and Anne’s home at 11am.

WFM: The WFM meets this Tuesday in the Tain hall at 2:30pm. The speaker will be Mary Macleod who will speak about her work with the Invergordon Cruise Ships. Tea and coffee will be served and there will be a sales table. All ladies are very warmly invited to come along.

Rev John van Eyk:   Rev John van Eyk John is in the country for a few days and will preach at the midweek meeting this Wednesday.   There will be a tea afterwards followed by a short interview with John to find out about his life and ministry back in Canada.

Election of Elders: We hope to elect new elders in the congregation over the coming weeks.   All communicant members will receive a ballot paper. These will be distributed next Sunday and must be returned by Sunday 29th December.

Holiday Sunday School:   We are looking for volunteers to cover Sunday School during the school holidays, in order to give our term teachers a rest and the opportunity to be in the morning service. If you would be willing to go on a supply list, then please speak to Mary Paterson or Andrew Macleod. 

Christian Focus Catalogue:   If you are thinking about buying Christian books to give as gifts this Christmas, there are copies of the Christian Focus catalogue available at the door.   There is a discount token inside.

2020 Calendars: The Fundraising calendars for 2020 are available in the hall priced at £5. There are also Notelets available for sale.

New Church Notices

New Church Fund: The total added to the New Church Fund in the last two months was £6724.   We will give a total for the Building Fund early in the New Year.   Meanwhile the total amount pledged to date is £45,000.

New Church Fundraiser:   We would like to thank all who contributed to yesterday’s fundraising stall, whether by baking, making soup, setting up or serving.  

New Church Pledges: We are currently seeking pledges to ascertain whether in conjunction with a loan from the Trustees, we can raise enough money to reach the half-way point, enabling us to then apply for grants elsewhere. By pledges, we mean a promise to gift money for this purpose. If enough is pledged, to enable the project to move forward, we will take up the pledges. Anyone wishing to pledge should speak to the clerk of the Deacons Court, Mr Bill Ferrier, on 01862 810 457 or by email on bill.camore@gmail.com – Pledges will be confidential, with only Bill being aware of the names of those pledging . If in future the pledges are taken up, the treasurers would also be made aware at that time.

Cheques:   All cheques must now be made payable to – Tain and Fearn Free Church of Scotland.   Please do not put “Building Fund” on the cheque as the bank has changed its rules and will now return it.   If you wish a cheque to go towards the Building Fund – please make that clear on the envelope.

Sermon Recordings:  If anybody wishes a copy of any sermon as an MP3 sent  via e-mail – please e-mail your request to Tom Walker on tom@tain.co.uk stating which sermon you would like. CDs can be ordered using the forms in the vestibule.

Alternatively you can listen to the morning sermons on YouTube  These are usually added on Sunday afternoons.  Some evening sermons are now being added.

Church Finances:  The Deacons Court would like to encourage those who contribute to the church to consider doing so by Standing Order. Anyone who sets up a new Standing Order should also let the Assistant Treasurer, Donella Ferrier know that they have done so. Donella can be contacted by email on donellaferrier@talktalk.net or by phone on 01862 810 457.

Free-Will Envelopes: There are sets of envelopes available for those who would like to use this method to donate to the church.   If anyone else wishes a set, please speak to one of the ministers.

Meanwhile, the Deacons Court would also urge anyone who pays tax to consider signing a Gift Aid form. This allows the church to get an additional 25% from the government, on any donations you make.
