Tain Communion: This is our communion weekend and we welcome Rev. David Court of Christ Church Edinburgh as our guest preacher. We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at the morning service today. And following the evening service tonight, there will be fellowship in the hall. We are delighted to welcome Sam MacNeil into the communicant membership of the congregation following his profession of faith.
Fun Run: Thank to Isla Scaman for organising this year’s Fun Run Fundraiser, and all the others who helped in a variety of ways. The sum of £520.00 was raised.
Scottish Bible Society: The Chief Executive of the Scottish Bible Society, Elaine Duncan will speak at our congregational mid-week meeting in Hilton this Wednesday at 7:30pm. Please come an hear about the wonderful work that organisation is involved in.
Treasurer: Our treasurer Donald Beaton has served the congregation well for over a decade and has intimated that he wishes to relinquish that responsibility now. We are looking for a new treasurer. If you would be willing to consider serving the Lord in that capacity, or if you would like to know more about what would be involved, please speak to one of the ministers in the first instance.
2020 Calendar: We will be voting on which photos to include in the 2020 Fundraising Calendar after the mid-week meeting in Hilton this week.
Scottish Bible Society: The Chief Executive of the Scottish Bible Society, Elaine Duncan will speak at our congregational mid-week meeting in Hilton this Wednesday.
Bible Study Group: The group meets next on Tuesday 21 May at 7.30pm at David and Anne’s house, 10 Duthac Wynd. The passage for study is James 1: 19-27.
New Church Update: If you missed it previously, there is a flyer at the door with an update on the Project.
Mobile Phones: We are still collecting old mobile phones to raise funds. These can be passed on to Samuel Robertson.
WFM Annual Meeting: A bus has been organised to take folk from the Highlands to the Women for Mission Annual Meeting on Thursday 18th May. The bus will depart from Knockbain Free Church in North Kessock at 8:30am and will be back around 9pm. The cost is £20. If you wish to book a space contact Marion Gray on 07717 452 226.
Holiday Club: We do not intend to have a holiday club this year so that the volunteers get a break.
Sermon Recordings: If anybody wishes a copy of any sermon as an MP3 recording sent via e-mail – please e-mail your request to Tom Walker on firstname.lastname@example.org stating which sermon you would like.
CDs can be ordered using the forms in the vestibule.
Alternatively you can listen to the morning sermons on the church YouTube channel. Morning sermons are usually added to our YouTube channel on Sunday afternoons. Some evening sermons are now being added.
Easy Fundraising: We have an easyfundraising account. If you shop online, the church can gain a donation for every purchase you make from numerous retailers, at no cost to you. You can sign up at the following site easyfundraising.org.uk then follow the simple instructions to join. This service is free every time for both yourself and the church.
Church Finances: The Deacons Court would like to encourage those who contribute to the church to consider doing so by Standing Order. Anyone who sets up a new Standing Order should also let the Assistant Treasurer, Donella Ferrier know that they have done so. Donella can be contacted by email on email@example.com or by phone on 01862 810 457.
Free-Will Envelopes: There are envelopes available for those who would like to use this method to donate to the church. Please speak to the treasurer, Donald Beaton or the Assistant Treasurer, Donella Ferrier.
Meanwhile, the Deacons Court would also urge anyone who pays tax to consider signing a Gift Aid form. This allows the church to get an additional 25% from the government, on any donations you make.
