Evangelism Training: If you find talking about your faith scary and even embarrassing, then you are not alone. Mission Director, David Meredith will lead a short course on some of the basic dos and don’ts of witnessing, this Saturday at the Capstone in Alness, from 10:30 – 1pm. This session will introduce you to the basic elements of personal witnessing. It will not answer all your questions or give you all the answers, but it will give you confidence to be more open about your faith.
Men’s Breakfast: There is a men’s breakfast in the UF Church this Saturday 25th August at 8am. The group meets every 3 months and our men are warmly invited to join them hear a testimony and enjoy breakfast together.
Sutherland Christian Convention: This takes place over the weekend of Friday 31st August to Sunday 2nd September with Rev. Dr Sinclair Ferguson as this year’s speaker. All meetings are in Dornoch Academy Hall, at 7.30 pm (Friday/Saturday) and 8.15 pm on the Sunday.
Online Sermons: Sunday morning sermon are now being added to the church website on a weekly basis. If you wish to listen again, or have missed a sermon, you can get them on the sermons page of our wbsite –
Creche Helpers -There will be a meeting for all creche helpers next Sunday, 26th August, after the morning service to introduce the materials that we plan to use with the children
The Record: We will be adjusting the order for the church magazine, The Record this week, so if anyone wishes to order a copy or to cancel an existing order, please let the minister or Ann Allan know today.
Tain Communion: The Tain communion will be on the weekend of 23rd September. The guest preacher is Rev. George MacAskill, APC.
Church Calendars: The fundraising calendars for 2019 are available in the hall. The price remains at £5, which includes an envelope if you wish to post it. Please ensure that your money goes in the blue cash box that is with the calendars. Please bear in mind that we will be looking for photos for the 2020 calendar in due course.
Parking: To help with the parking situation on a Sunday morning, we have permission for you to park over at the entrance to William Paterson’s yard. Meanwhile, if you are first to park on the grass bank across the road, try and park as far in as possible, to allow for more cars to utilise that space.
New Church – Fundraising Notices
Gift Aid Forms: If you donate money to the church and you are a tax-payer – the congregation can gain additional income at no cost to you. Therefore we would urge you to fill in this Gift Aid Form unless you have already done so. Last year we received almost £20,000 back from the government in Gift Aid.
Easy Fundraising: We now have an easyfundraising account. If you shop online, the church can gain a donation for every purchase you make from numerous retailers, at no cost to you. You can sign up at the following site easyfundraising.org.uk then follow the simple instructions to join. This service is free every time for both yourself and the church.
Church Finances: The Deacons Court would like to encourage those who contribute to the church to consider doing so by Standing Order.
