Treasure Chest – with reminder verses.

Tain and Hilton Holiday Clubs 2018

Our Holiday Clubs in Tain and Hilton continue to be well attended by primary age children.

The morning session in Hilton Primary School and the afternoon in TRAAC in Tain followed the same pattern and included singing, teaching, crafts, games and snacks.

We had a pirate theme this year and we looked at The Life of Paul – He was like a bad pirate, threatening and harming others until he met with Jesus and his life was dramatically changed.

Each day looked at part of Paul’s life as he was changed from Pirate Paul to Preacher Paul. There was a title for each day with a lesson and a memory verse to accompany it which the children were superb at remembering. They were as follows –

Paul Rebels – even the worst sinner ever can be forgiven. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst.

Paul ReprogrammedJesus can make bad pirates good. He who began a good work in you, will carry it on to completion.

Paul RemandedGod is always there to help youI can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Paul ReviewsLife before Jesus was absolutely rubbish. I have learnt the secret of being content in any and every situation.

Paul RejoicesThe best is yet to come. For me to live is Christ – and to die is gain.

Both clubs finished on Friday with a family barbeque catering for well over 100 people, and there were family services in both Tain and Hilton on the Sunday at which the children read, sung and displayed how much of the week’s teaching they had retained.

Each child received a treasure chest with the week’s memory verses to remind them of all that they had learnt.
