Assistant Minister: Our call to Rev. Mark MacLeod was sadly unsuccessful. Mark felt led by the Lord to accept a call from the Free Church in Leverburgh, Harris to be their minister. We wish him and his family every blessing as they serve the Lord there. In the meantime, we need to prayerfully seek the Lord’s will for ourselves with regard to getting an assistant minister.
Challenger Bus: We expect to have the Challenger Bus with us on the first week of September. There will be a team of 7 who will be working with the schools in the area during the day and inviting children to the bus in the evenings. We are looking for people who are willing to host members of the team for Bed and Breakfast from Saturday 2nd September to Friday 8th September. We are also looking for others who can provide an evening meal for them one night of the week. Speak to the minister if you can help
Bible Study: We are currently seeking to ascertain what interest there would be in a home Bible study. The time and venue would depend on what suited the majority of interested people. If you would be interested in being part of a Bible Study Group or finding our more about it, please speak to the minister or one of the elders.
The Hilton Manse: has now been vacated and work will begin to prepare it for an assistant minister.
Tain Communion: The date of the September Communion has been changed from the 4th Sunday of the month, to the third Sunday, for this year only. Tain Communion will be on the weekend of 16th and 17th September. The guest preacher is Rev. Iver Martin.
New Church Fundraising Events
Calendars: 2018 Calendars are now available and can be purchased anytime. They cost £5.00 Thanks to all those who contributed photos and please continue to take photos which may be used in future years.
Easy Fundraising: We now have an easyfundraising account. If you shop online, the church can gain a donation for every purchase you make from numerous retailers, at no cost to you. You can sign up at the following site easyfundraising.org.uk then follow the simple instructions to join. This service is free every time for both yourself and the church.
Gift Aid Forms: Along with your bulletin today is a Gift Aid Form. If you donate money to the church and you are a tax-payer – the congregation can gain additional income at no cost to you. Therefore we would urge you to fill in this Gift Aid Form unless you have already done so. Last year we received almost £20,000 back from the government in Gift Aid.
Thank-you for attending our service today.
Note: There is a loop system in the church. We stand to sing and remain seated for prayer.
