Tain Communion: There will be a communion in Tain on Sunday 15th Jan. The Saturday night preparatory service and the Sunday night service will be taken by Mr Iain Morrison (ETS Student). The communion service on Sunday morning will be taken by the minister.
New Church Fund: A total of £7600 was donated so far this month for the New Church Fund. We are delighted that the target for the year has been exceeded. We began 2016 with £45,000 and were aiming to reach £100,000. The current total in the New Church Fund is £109,000. Your donations are very much appreciated.
Assistant Minister: The Elders and Deacons have recently agreed that we will apply to the General Assembly in May, for permission to get an assistant minister in 2017. This will require a significant increase in the sum we send to central funds in Edinburgh. We expect to have sent £60,000 by the end of 2016, but we will be required to send £70,000 in future, to qualify for an assistant.
The office-bearers believe that an assistant minister is now necessary, given the growth in the congregation and they commend this need to your prayers. They are also very aware of how generously the congregation are already giving, but would encourage you to consider making any increase you can in your donations to ensure that we can finance this.
The church envelope system can be used for regular giving, or alternatively, you can set up a monthly standing order – Account number: 06001724 Sort code: 80-06-36
Those who pay tax are also urged to complete a Gift Aid Form which enables the congregation to gain an extra 25% on any donations you make, at no cost to the giver. Almost £20,000 of our income in this current year has come from Gift Aid. If you wish additional information, speak to Mr Donald Beaton or Mrs Donella Ferrier. Their contact details are in the congregational directory and on our website.
The Record: Payment for the church magazine, The Record, is now due and is £18. Put your payment in a envelope with your name and “Record” written on it, and leave it in the plate at the door. Anyone wishing to order one for the first time, or anyone wishing to cancel their order, should speak to Ann Allan
Jewellery & Phones Collection: There are boxes at both doors for unwanted jewellery, gold, silver or platinum as well as disused silver cutlery, watches or clocks. Mobile phones are also welcomed, but please erase any data and remove the sim card. Do not include phone chargers.
Sermon Recordings: If anybody wishes a copy of any sermon as an MP3, via e-mail – please e-mail your request to Tom Walker on firstname.lastname@example.org stating which sermon you would like.
